"Female Portrait", Watercolor, ca.1850 500 EUR - 50% DISCOUNT = 250,00 EUR This lovely watercolour portrait of a young lady in landscape shows all typical features of the works by the well-known Czech miniaturist and watercolor artist Jan Zachariáš Quast. Jan Zachariáš Quast was born in 1814 in Karlsbad (now Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic) and died in 1891 in Pisek. He was a well-known miniaturist and arts and crafts artist (paintings on glass and porcelain). He studied under his father Conrad Ferdinand Quast and later was in charge of the porcelain manufactory in Lenora. Condition: In good overall condition, one minor trace of foxing at upper edge (over the head).
