He was born in 1783 in Herborn, Canton St.Gall, collaborated with the famous Gabriel L.Lory and his son Mathias Gabriel Lory. The artist was very popular for his Italian and Swiss views in watercolor. For a long time he was a professor of grammar schools in Neuchâtel, where he died in 1855.
