Nikolai Artemievich Pavlyuk (1901 Haisyn - 1980) was a Soviet Ukrainian painter and a Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. He studied at the Odessa Art Institute until 1930. He was active in Odessa and was a member of the Association of Revolutionary Art of the Ukrainian SSR (ARIU). Throughout his career he taught at art schools in Kiev and Odessa. During the WWII he took part in the defense of the city of Odessa.
After the war, he took part in the restoration and headed the Odessa Art School, taught at the Ushinsky Pedagogical Institute and the Art School a course in the history of art, composition and graphic art. For a long time he was the executive secretary of the Odessa Regional Union of Artists. He wrote genre compositions, landscapes and still lifes.
Nikolai Pavlyuk was a talented painter and an outstanding teacher. He devoted nearly 40 years of his life to educating the young generation of artists within the walls of the Odessa Art School. Nikolai Pavlyuk mainly lived and worked in Odessa. He died in 1980. The artist's works are presented in many museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
