Ernst Liebenauer (1884 Vienna - 1970 Vienna) was a very well listed Austrian painter and illustrator of the early 20th century.
**The sitter Theodor Koerner (1791-1813) was a German poet and playwright. He began studies at the Mining Academy of Freiburg in 1808 but during his studies turned more and more to poetry publishing a poetry collection in 1810. He then studied law, first in Leipzig, then in Berlin, but gave this up. His father sent Theodor to Vienna, where he wrote comedies and drama and studied history. Theodor Koerner beame the writer of the Vienna Burgtheatre in January 1813, but already in March of the same year inexplicably joined the war effort and was killed in battle still in the same year.
