Favorin Lerebours was born ca. 1773. Already at the age of 9 he became a "protected pupil" of Academie royale de Peinture et de Sculpture in Paris. He specialized there as miniaturist. It is likely that after graduating Lerebours went to Germany, where he made a successful career. In 1798 we meet him in Mannheim, where he executed a portrait of local mayor Pfanner (now in Schlossmuseum, Mannheim).
