Antonin (Anton) Bayer was born in 1768 in Tannenberg (Svatá Anna / Böhmerwald) and died in 1833 in Prague. He studied from 1801 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, and lived mainly in this city, with interruptions for Budapest (1821-23) and Vienna (ca. 1825). His clientele generally included members of aristocracy (especially families Thun and Nostitz) and artists. Provenance: private collection, Bavaria / Germany
