According to the sitter's epaulettes we are dealing with a portrait of one of the four lieutenants (in the army rank of a captain) of the "garde de la porte du roi" which shortly existed (new-founded) in the period of the 1st Bourbon Restoration (1814/15) see our image nr.8.
