This good quality miniature on ivory is executed about 1900 by anonymous artist copy after oil painting from late 1840s by well-known Russian artist Ivan Kuzmich Makarov. This painting (now in Moscow State Museum of A. S. Pushkin - see our image nr.4) is a very mportant portrait of Natalia Nikolaevna Lanskaya, nee Goncharova (1812-1863; CLICK HERE), in her first marriage Pushkina (wife of Russian greatest poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin)
