# 43424 Alexander Osipovich Orlowski ""Kirghiz" and "Cossack" (Napoleonic Wars 1812/14)", two drawings, 1820 Price: 6900 EUR (please note additional Austrian VAT (Value Added Tax) applies for transactions concluded within the European Union) Executed in 1820 by famous Polish-Russian artist Alexander Osipovich Orlowski these two charcoal drawings show a mounted Kirghiz from one of the Russian "500-men" cavalry regiments participating in the anti-Napoleonic campaigns of 1812/14 (each completed in the areas of Russian Empire inhabited by various Asian folks - Tartars, Bashkirs, Kirghiz etc.; mainly armed with spears, bows and sabres; see our comparison image nr.9 and CLICK HERE) and a mounted cossack from Life Guards Atamanski Regiment (see image nr.10 and CLICK HERE). Alexander Osipovich Orlowski (1777 Warsaw - 1832 St.Petersburg) was a famous Polish-Russian horse and genre painter of the turn of the 19th century.
