On view here is a highly qualitative miniature portrait of a young aristocratic lady posing against a distant view of Florence (a Grand Tour voyager?). It was executed (according to sitter's dress and hairstyle) in the mid-1780s.

According to our friend, world-best specialist in portrait miniatures Dr. Bodo Hofstetter (his email of January 18, 2019), the author of this miniature was "Monogrammist D.M.", who recently was identified by leading French art historian, Mme Nathalie Lemoine-Bouchard as turn of 18th century miniaturist Jean-Louis-Dominique Duvaucel, called "Marsoeuvre" (whose several works are already in our possession).

Until recently the identity of the French miniaturist signing his works with the ligated monogram "D.M." was practically unknown. You only knew (on the base of legends on verso of some of his miniatures) that he worked in the late 18th century in Bordeaux and Paris.
An article of leading French specialist in portrait miniatures, Mme Nathalie Lemoine-Bouchard, published in issue n°36, 2019 of "Etudes Epistémè" at last provided the biography of this 1st class artist.
Through an in-depth search in various archives Mme Lemoine-Bouchard found out that the artist's full name was Jean-Louis-Dominique Duvaucel, and that he worked under the pseudonym "Marsoeuvre". He was born in Paris, on the 8th of November 1749 and died there on July the 13th 1830.
