Belgian landscape, genre and portrait artist Louis Ricquier (also Lodewyk Riquier) was born in 1792 in Antwerp and died in 1884 in Paris. He was a pupil of M. de Bree and he settled in Paris in 1840. In 1822, 1823 and 1849 he participated at exhibitions of Salon de Paris. He visited Italy where he executed numerous landscapes with views of Naples.
