This, of typical for Russian School of that time octagonal form miniature on ivory shows a yong gentleman in civil dress who is decorated with badges of four - all Russian - awards:
neck cross of the St.Anna Order of 2nd class
chest cross of the Order of St.Vladimir of 4th class
round silver medal of a participant of the Patriotic (Russo-French) War of 1812 (distributed from early 1814; its blue ("Andreevski") ribbon was unfortunately discolored through time)
round bronze (so-called "dvoryanskaya") medal for the Patriotic war of 1812 (distributed from August 30, 1814; however, the small-sized model which we see here was introduced in February of 1816 (lower time border of this miniature's execution!))

Clearly the young man was active in the late period of Napoleonic Wars (and even after the end of them - miniature was surely executed after February 1816 in Russia) in the Russian (rather military) service.
Fortunately the legend on verso (see our image nr.7) helps to identify him. This legend contains several names of male members of the Saxonian noble family von Graisowsky from the Upper Lausitz region (then border of Brandenburg and Saxony; now partially in Germany, Poland and Czech Republic). The residence of this family was from 1820s estate D÷bschke (now in German province Sachsen).
As a first among the mentioned names is that of our young gentleman (his name is accompanied with notice "Russland" (Russia)) - Jakob von Graisowsky. We only learn the he died (at unknown date) in D÷bschke. The following names are surely that of his son, grandson, great-grandson and great-great-grandson.

The next mention of Jakob von Graisowsky we find in the list of foreigners who arrived in last week of October 1814 to Vienna (sic! it is the beginning of the famous Congress of Vienna (CLICK HERE)). In that list we find a certain "Graisowsky, Russian Collegial Assessor (official's rank - B.W.) who arrived in Vienna from Dresden" (see our image nr.8). Surely our "Russian" Jakob von Graisowsky is meant!

Bearer of Russian medals for 1812 he entered Russian service surely before the beginning of the Patriotic War. His native Saxony was then a Napoleon's ally, and the young man apparantly emigrated to Russia either in protest against this alliance or rather (what seems to be more plausible) to avoid recruiting to the Saxonian Army; the latter invaded (in ranks of French Grande Armee) Russia in 1812.

After the Napoleon's defeat at Leipzig, Saxony was managed (between 21st October 1813 and 9th November 1814) by Russian General-Governor Prince N. G. Repnin-Volkonski, and our Jakob von Graisowsky served (as we believe) in latter's administration.

The next step was to find dates of his awarding both Russian orders.
In the lists of awardees we find him (see image nr.9) with transformed (in each of both cases) through Russian spelling names:
Order of St.Vladimir of 4th class he obtained on 9th August 1813 (his name is transformed to "Grezowskyi").
Order of St.Anna of 2nd class he obtained (as "Krizovsky, former secretary in Saxony") on 19th September 1814.

Unfortunately we could not find any additional information concerning this man.
