Johann Christian Schoeller (1782 Rappoltsweiler - 1851 Vienna) began his study at the Munich Academy under Klot, then went to Geneva to learn the art of miniature painting. In 1812 he was in Paris, then traveled to the Provence and Rhine Valley, and finally settled in Vienna in 1815. In the future, he only left Vienna for short stays in Italy and Paris.
