Richard Gutschmidt (1861 Neuruppin, province Brandenburg - 1926 Munich) studied between 1889-1891 at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts under Johann Caspar Herterich and Ludwig von Löffitz. He specialized in illustration art, and from 1903 until 1917 was actively contributing to Munich satirical magazine "Meggendorfer Blätter". From 1903 Gutschmidt also exhibited his works at the Munich "Glaspalast".
