Lorenzo Thewenetti was born in ca. 1797 probably in Italy. He was one of three brothers; Edward and Michael were also miniaturists. From 1860 all three were photographers and portraitists; Edward and Lorenzo were described as "Gentlemen". Lorenzo was working in Cheltenham (1824), London (1826-1827) and in 1837 the three brothers lived at 7 Macaulay Buildings, Bath with a studio at 14 Bond Street, London.
