Henri-Joseph van Blarenberghe (1741 Lille - 1826 ibidem) was a member of the famous family of miniaturists; son of Louis-Nicolas Blarenberghe and father of Helene van Blarenberghe. Himself, van Blarenberghe was a pupil and collaborator of his father, and was also active as an art teacher (he was a drawing teacher of "Enfants de France", and later - the conservator (director) of the Museum of Lille). His works were strongly influenced by the Dutch (sic!) 17th century masters. Several of his smaller paintings belong to collections of the most important world museums such as Metropolitan Museum of Art and Louvre.
