This, executed (due sitter's dress and hairstyle) in late 1820s, by 1st-class Austrian or German artist, miniature on ivory turned out to be a rare portrait of Italian opera singer (contralto) Adelaide Schiasetti (see our compasrison image nr.7).
Adelaide Schiasetti was born in 1802, in Rome as a daughter of a high-ranking Napoleonic officer. She studied at the Milan Conservatory and from ca. 1820 she performed at Munich Italian Opera. Some later she went to Paris and spent there some time also at Italian Opera. In 1826 she succeeded Costanza Tibaldi at Italian Opera of Dresden and remained there until 1832. In 1870s she was still alive (see image nr.8). As a girl she was so beauty, that, as she still stayed in Munich, Crown Prince Ludwig (future King Ludwig I of Bavaria) fell in love with her, but this love remained Platonic.
