As our additional images show, the artist's name was Pelagie Augustine Lamy. She was one of the twin sisters Lamy (the second sister's name was Adelaide; she was also a miniaturist and outlived her sister Pelagie-Augustine by five years). The sisters were born on the 15th November 1779 in French town Amiens. Pelagie-Augustine died in the same city on the 16th of August 1844. She was probably never married, for at 1827 exhibition in Amiens, where she showed "Cadre de miniatures" (tableau with miniature portraits), she was listed as (still) Mlle Augustine Lamy.
