Grigori Ivanovich Kapustin (1865 Odessa - 1925 Odessa; CLICK HERE) studied at the St. Petersburg Imperial Academy of Fine Arts and in studio of I. A. Aivazovsky in Feodosia (Crimea). Later in life he became primarily known as a Marinist artist working in Odessa. Kapustin's works were very popular at the turn of the 20th century and were often reproduced as post-cards or illustrations in various magazines. Today, his paintings can be viewed in museums of Russia (Ryazan, Tula) and Ukraine.
