Johann Heusinger was very likely born in Wolfenbuettel in 1769 and died in 1846. Heusinger was a miniature painter, who worked in Berlin from 1789. In the same year he also began exhibiting his works at the Academy of the same city. In the beginning of the 19th century he was appointed teacher of drawing to the Crown prince Friedrich Wilhelm IV and his brother. He also worked as a designer for the porcelain factory of Berlin for a long time. Schidlof writes: "Heusinger was a clever artist.. He signed with his name or: J.H., followed by the date, or: H.
