According to the old legend on verso of the painting (as well as its backing plaque), we are dealing here with (executed in 1843 in Budapest) portrait of certain Louise Kysel, nee Kapka ("Kysel" being a typically Hungarian family name).
Johann Baptist Clarot (1797 Vienna - after 1854 Budapest) was a well-known Viennese portraitist and lithographer, son of engraver Joseph Clarot and brother of portraitist (and miniaturist!) Alexander Clarot.

Condition: fairly good; in original, gilded Biedermeier frame
