Louis Adolphe Menier had been mentioned in various sources as the artist living in the 1820s-1850s interchangeably in Paris and small town Lisieux in Normandy (CLICK HERE), where he held a job of a conservator in a local museum. Menier's participated in exhibitions of Salon de Paris of 1833, 1834, 1837, 1840, and 1846, every time providing a different address either in Paris or Lisieux (see our images nr.8-13). He also regularly participated in regional exhibitions held in Caen, center of department Calvados, in which Lisieux is situated.
