As our comparison image nr.4 demonstrates, we are dealing here with portrait of a Commander (colonel (lace and three tabs on collar)) of Bavarian 5th Line Infantry Regiment from the period between 1806 (in 1806 uniform of 5th Regiment obtained white (instead red) pipings, and 1811 (pipings were abolished). The sitter's hairstyle speaks rather for mid of 1800s, what narrows period of miniature's execution to 1806-1807. At that time (1804-1807) Commander of 5th Regiment was Colonel Philipp von Bieringer. The latter was awarded in December 1805 Kurpfalz-Bavarian Military Honor Cross which is still absent on this portrait (what let us to assume that the miniature was executed in first days of 1806).
Philipp von Bieringer died on 30th March 1807 at Castle Komorno in Upper Silezia (now Poland).
