This miniature portrait of certain Mme Benoit (for her name in legend on verso, see our image nr.8) is a work of well-known French 19th-century female miniaturist, Mlle Anne-Nicole Voullemier.
Mlle Anne-Nicole Voullemier (1796 Chatillon, Seine - 1886) was a pupil of Jean-Baptiste Regnault and miniaturist Louis-Francois Aubry. She regularly participated in the exhibitions of Salon de Paris between the years 1819 and 1850. At the exhibitions of 1835 and 1845, she was presented with medals. Works of this artist can be viewed in various French museums.
