An extreme rarity at the modern antique market (there are no auction sale records in the the last thirty years), it is a work of Swiss female artist of the 2nd half of the 19th century - Marie Ravel-Lancet.
Marie Ravel, nee Lancet was born in Geneva. She was a pupil of her husband - Genevan artist Edouard-John-E. Ravel (b. 1847). She took part in various exhibitions (mostly in Switzerland). Some of her works can be viewed in Musée Rath in Geneva. Also, see our images nr.7-8.
