Gustave Poetzsch (1868 Neuchâtel, Switzerland - 1950) was a well-known Swiss-French landscape and portrait artist. In 1888, he went to study in Paris and trained there with Luc-Olivier Merson at the l'ecole des Beaux-Arts. From 1895, he exhibited in Paris at the Salon des indépendants, Salon des Artistes Français and the Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts. Besides that, he was a member of "Amis des Arts de Neuchâtel".
