*Extremely rare hand-drawn work by (known mainly as an engraver) celebrated 19th-century French artist, Henrique Dupont.
Henrique Dupont (his full given name was Louis Pierre Henrique) was born in 1792 in Paris and died in the same city in 1892. From 1812, he trained with Pierre Narcisse Guerin at the Parisian Ecole des Beaux-Arts; from 1815 - studied under Charles-Clement Bervic. He mainly specialized in engraving reproductions after famous Old Masters, as well as his contemporary artists, yet was also active (beginning ca. 1814) as a miniaturist and watercolor portrait artist.
