These two small paintings (obviously preparatory studies for large-scala portraits) are with a very great possibility works of well-known English artist Charles Hayter.
Charles Hayter (1761 Twickenham - 1835 London) entered the Royal Academy Schools on the 30th of January 1786, aged "24. 24th last Feb.". He worked in London and Winchester (1832), exhibited at the Royal Academy, etc. in 1786-1832. He was also a Professor of Perspective of Princess Charlotte, as well as the author of "An Introduction to Perspective" (1813) and "A new Practical Treatise on Three Primative Colours" (1828). Hayter executed portraits in pastel and pencil and painted miniatures.
