THE SELLER WILL COVER SHIPPING WITH REGULAR MAIL FOR THIS ITEM!
This superior quality oil on copper miniature shows a young, aristocratic Austrian lady (she bears the Austrian Ladies "Sternkreuzorden" (Order of Star Cross) and is dressed and hair-styled according to fashion of the early 1760s). This miniature strongly resembles works of Swedish-born Vienna court miniaturist Martin van Meytens the Younger (1695 Stockholm - 1770 Vienna).
Morevover, the sitter appears to be one of the surviving daughters (one of them was Marie Antoinette of France) of the Holy Roman Empress Maria Theresa of Austria (CLICK HERE). One of the previous owners of this miniature was of the belief that she was Maria Theresa's daughter Maria Christina (1742-1798; CLICK HERE).
