Executed between the years 1804 and 1806 (note the sitter's 1st model of the Chevalier Cross of the Legion of Honor; the 1st model's tips of rays were not finished with balls and topped with crown), it is a miniature portrait of a Napoleonic aide-de-camp of a brigade general (note his blue (!) arm-band) in rank of a captain.
