Pavel (Paul) Fedorovich Schwartz (1879 Odessa - 1934 Odessa) was born in Odessa, South Ukraine, into a family of German origin in 1879, and died in the same city in 1934. He was a very well-known painter, graphic artist and stage designer. He graduated at the New Russian Universtity in Odessa and studied further at the academies Julian and Vitty in Paris. In 1916 became a member of the "Society of South Russian Artists". The artist also worked as a stage designer at the famous Odessa Opera (1926-1933). He was a founding member of the artist group "Kostandi Society" in Odessa.
