According to Schidlof this artist was deaf-mute and was a pupil of Pennequin. Schidlof also mentions that he exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1806 and in Stockholm from 1808 to 1810. Hans Lundberg in his "Svenskt Konstnärslexikon" refers to him as a pupil of J.B.J. Augustin.
