Anton Kauffmann was a listed Viennese artist, who, while he was a student at the Vienna Academy (1830/40s), was mainly known as portrait miniaturist. By 1848 he was already mentioned in the list of pupils of Vienna Academy as a student of architecture. Five of his miniatures were shown at the academic exhibitions of 1838 and 1839.
