Franz Quaglio (1844 Munich - 1920 Wasserburg am Inn) was a member of a Munich artist family of Italian origin. He was son of the artist Simon Quaglio, who also gave him the first lessons in painting. From 1862 he studied at the Munich Academy where his teachers were his uncle Franz Adam Quaglio and the famous horse painter Josef von Brandt.
