Both of these two oustandingly qualitative pastel portraits of a young French (newlywed?) couple demonstrate absolute stylistic resemblance to works of famous Parisian female portraitist (also pastelist), Adelaide Labille Guiard (1749-1803; CLICK HERE) and her favorite pupil, Marie-Gabrielle Capet (1761-1818; CLICK HERE). The comparison of "our" portraits with works of these two ladies fully confirms our hypothesis: one of these two female artists was the author of this pair of pastels.
