This miniature on ivory with a portrait of a young Austrian aristocrat strongly resembles works of Vienna court miniaturist Lorenzo Balbi.
Lorenzo Balbi (1732 Milan - 1782 Vienna), a Milanese artist, had to leave his home town due to family reasons. He lived from 1770 in Vienna, where he worked at the Court.
